13:30 TRIUMPH HURDLE

Unless something miraculous happens, I cannot see SIR EREC  getting beat here.

He finished a solid third behind Stradivarius in the Long Distance Cup was very impressive. He has since claimed a perfect two from two over hurdles including Grade 1 glory over a lot of this field.

But our first race offer insurance means you have a free shot to take him on, so I’d go with HANNON .

He's been consistent so far with a nice win in the Betway Juvenile Hurdle at Musselburgh on New Year’s Day and also has two runner-ups, including last time out to Chosen Mate in Grade 2 action.

He's a big price, so is worth an each-way punt.

14:10 COUNTY HANDICAP HURDLE

It’s been a tough week for Jack Kennedy, but I do think he looks set for a win on ECLAIR DE BEAUFEU .

Back-to-back wins at Limerick and Fairyhouse were impressive for the five year-old and, although he was disappointing in the Ladbrokes Hurdle, he did still finish ahead of Uradel.

He’s really nicely handicapped at 10-9 so I think he’ll be right up there.

A nice each-way bet is Paul Nicholls’ CAPITAINE .

He won the Grade 2 Supreme Trial in 2016 and followed up with three wins from seven the following year.

The seven-year-old then had a dip in form but showed signs he could be back to his best in the Greene King Hurdle at Taunton last month and, with Harry Codben in the saddle, you’ve always got a chance.

14:50 ALBERT BARTLETT NOVICES' HURDLE

This is a really tough one to call, but I like DERRINROSS   for the Dempsey team.

He's an incredibly consistent eight-year-old (234-2211) and deserves huge praise to win a Grade 3 at Cork and then a Grade 2 at Limerick, all within he space of 20 days in December.

He’s a great jumper and proven over 2m 7f so I think he’s the one to beat in this field.

An each-way chance I’m really keen on is STONEY MOUNTAIN .

He's another horse that's been very consistent with four wins and two seconds from nine runs but did disappoint at the Festival in last year’s bumper.

He has won on soft ground at Southwell by 11 lengths in December so the ground should suit and I'm keen on him placing here.

15:30 GOLD CUP

This is the big one.

I tipped Native River in this race last year and I’m really hoping PRESENTING PERCY   is going to come good this time.

He was magnificent in last year’s RSA beating a really strong field, including ELEGANT ESCAPE  Monalee, Ballyoptic and Black Corton.

There is a slight concern with his preparation as he’s only has one Grade 2 win over Hurdles at Gowran Park and no horse has ever won this race without a run over fences in the season.

But I don’t think Pat Kelly is too fussed and has been schooling him for this big day. If he performs anything like he did last Festival, he’s going to be hard to beat.

One of the ones he beat in the RSA could be the best each-way bet in Elegant Escape.

Colin Tizzard’s seven-year-old has had a great season, winning the Welsh National and a really strong second behind Frodon in the Cotswold Chase.

He’ll definitely stay and will relish the ground so he’s one to keep your eye on.

16:10 FOXHUNTERS' CHASE

ROAD TO ROME  has won four in a row and I think he has a good chance to make it five here.

In two of those victories, he has absolutely decimated the field by winning at Taunton by 25 lengths in January and then bettered that last time out at Haydock by 34 lengths.

He travels really well and has bags of stamina so I think he’ll be tough to beat.

16:50 GRAND ANNUAL

I was devastated when Gary Moore’s Gino Trail finished second here last year, but I’m hoping he’s stablemate DIAKALI  can go one better.

He's a course-and-distance winner, having won easily in October, but  the veteran but has disappointed in his last two.

He was pulled up in Grade 1 Henry VII Chase and finished last in the Desert Orchid Chase well behind Altior.

The step back down in class will definitely help him and, having proved himself over 2m, he looks a nice each-way bet with five places on offer.

The other outside I like is THFLYINGPORTRAIT   for Jennie Candish.

This 10-year-old has only finished outside the top three once in his last six trips, which included two very tidy victories at Wetherby.

He's nicely handicapped, so I think he’s also another each-way shout.

17:30 MARTIN PIPE

We finish with the Martin Pipe and I’m quite confident that DALLAS DES PICTONS   can end the week on a high.

After a slightly disappointing debut, the six-year-old responded emphatically with a runner-up to Ballymore winner City Island and back-to-back wins at Punchestown and Leopardstown.

He was only three lengths behind City Island at Leopardstown, which is a real form boost and with Donagh Meyler winning this race on Blow By Blow last year. He could repeat that triumph.

If you are to have an each-way punt then it’s another from Jennie Candishs’ yard that I like in BIG TIME DANCER  .

He's a versatile six-year-old with steady success on both the jumps and flat.

He was very impressive when he won the Lanzarote Hurdle last time out and is still well handicapped in this field carrying 10-13.

He’s worth a dabble.
