After a tough Tuesday, yesterday was a fantastic day, capped off with the 10/1 double landing in the Champion Bumper.

Here’s hoping for a profitable Thursday!

13.30 JLT NOVICES' CHASE

KILDISART  was one of my ante-post bets, and I’m still very keen on him.

As I’ve said, he’s really stepped up since he began his chasing career, having won his last two, including a big win here in January.

Daryl Jacob has finished second in this race for the last three years (Bristol De Mai 2016; Top Notch 2017; Terrefort 2018) so I think it’s finally time to claim that elusive win.

14.10 PERTEMPS HANDICAP HURDLE

Another one of my ante-post bets was Dr Richard Newland’s AARON LAD  .

He’s in great form, having won four of his last six, including a very impressive victory in the Citipost here in December.

Charlie Hammond seems to have found the winning touch with him, and I’m hoping he’ll provide at least some each-way profit.

14:50 RYANAIR CHASE

This is a really difficult race to call, with a good case to be made for a lot of the field, but I’m more drawn to MONALEE  than anyone else.

He is an uncomplicated horse, who is very consistently travelled and has decent Festival form having finished behind Presenting Percy in last year’s RSA and second to Penhill in the 2017 Albert Bartlett.

A very nice winner in the Red Mills Chase last month was an ideal warm-up race and I think he’s the one to beat.

15:30 STAYERS' HURDLE

I really like Paisley Park, but I cannot help be drawn to FAUGHEEN  .

There were signs that he could be back to his best after he won the Champion Stayers Hurdle at Punchestown last year by a mammoth 13 lengths.

He was disappointingly beaten by Sharjah in the Morgiana Hurdle last November, proving his days over 2m are over, so I’m hoping he can reignite another famous Cheltenham win by stepping up here.

16:10 BROWN PLATE HANDICAP CHASE

I managed to find the winner and third place in this race last year, so hopefully I can do the same this time.

The one who I think has the best chance of winning is SPIRITOFTHEGAMES  for the Skeltons.

He has four wins and four places from 12, notably finishing third to Kalashnikovin in last year’s Betfair Hurdle.

He also wasn’t too far behind stablemate Mohaayed in last year’s County Hurdle.

A noble effort behind Kildisart here last time out is a form boost, and I think he’s a nice price.

The each-way fancy is the same bet as I did last year, KING’S ODYSSEY  .

He absolutely loves this course, finishing third in his last three trips to Prestbury Park to The Storyteller, Frodon and Guitar Pete.

Evan Williams and Adam Wedge have already had one big place this week with Silver Streak, so hopefully they can get another.

16:50 MARES' NOVICE HURDLE

Despite there being the short favourite in this field, I’ve been keen on POSH TRISH  for a while now.

She comes into the race as the highest rated in the field, winning four of her last five, and tasted victory here in just her second outing late in 2017.

Paul Nicholls has a really classy mare here and I think she’s the one to beat.

17:30 KIM MUIR CHALLENGE CUP

While many may feel like Gordon Elliot’s Measureofmydreams is the one to beat, I actually think his stablemate ITS ALL GUESSWORK  will get the job done.

He has just two wins to his name so far, but he is very consistent and put in a really strong performance last time out at Punchestown.

He’s usually very consistent and I think he can get back to winning ways here.
