12.45 ASCOT

I’m keeping the faith with TANASOQ  in the opener at Ascot.

The five-year-old has won four in a row, two of which I tipped with a brilliant display to win the Epsom Dash and then a comfortable victory at Chester last time out.

He’s nicely handicapped at 9-3 and, with Phillip Makin having rode two of the four wins under Paul Midgley, he should go close here.

13.40 NEWMARKET

With five places on offer in the Bunbury Cup, I’m hunting for the each-way value again.

The one I’m going for is four-year-old MASHAM STAR  , who is one of the most experienced in the field with 38 runs.

He finished second in the Mile Handicap at this meeting last year but drops back down to 7f.

A decent fourth in the Coral Challenge at Sandown last weekend was nice preparation and he's also nicely handicapped at 8-12.

Joe Fanning and Mark Johnston were victorious in the Old Newton Cup last Saturday, so let’s hope they can land another big win here.

14.15 NEWMARKET

It’s the big July Cup Group 1 sprint up next and, despite flopping at Royal Ascot, I think SIOUX NATION  is overpriced here.

Aidan O’Brien’s colt has four wins and two placed-finishes from 10 trips, which includes wins in the 2017 Norfolk Stakes and a Group 1 in the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes last summer.

He ran in the Middle Park Stakes here last September but started slow that day and never got into the race.

Seamie Heffernan has one win and a second on board but hasn’t ridden him since last May, but he still looks a good each-way price.

15.40 YORK

The final tip is in the John Smith’s Cup where I’m going for Simon Crisford’s MORDIN  .

The four-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant start with three wins and three seconds from six runs.

He had a nice second at Windsor in May where he finished over three lengths ahead of Old Newton Cup winner Rainbow Rebel, and comes into this race carrying 8-12.

The experienced Graham Lee takes the ride and with another five places on offer, he looks to have a big each-way chance.
