13.50 - MEYDAN

TOP PICK: TORCEDOR

The Dubai Gold Cup sees a field of high-quality flat stayers compete for a huge prize.

We probably need to look towards the consistent Vazirabad as the most likely winner as he seeks a hat-trick in the race.

He’ll be selected by plenty in the competition and variety will be the only thing that lands us a bigger share.

For that reason, I like TORCEDOR.

He didn't handle the soft going last time out when almost landing the stayers’ race on Champions Day at Ascot, but this will be more to his liking and he looks a good selection to get us underway.

Second choice: Vazirabad

14.40 - HAYDOCK

TOP PICK: PERCY STREET

This is a competitive handicap hurdle towards the end of the National Hunt season, where strange results can often occur.

Some horses are overexposed for the season, while others that have been lightly campaigned may start to come into their own on the supposed spring ground.

Course-and-distance winner Sleepy Haven must enter calculations at a big price.

But my vote goes to PERCY STREET, who can be excused his defeat as favourite last time out and he looks fit to run his race on Saturday.

Second choice: Sleepy Haven

16.35 - MEYDAN

TOP PICK: LANCASTER BOMBER

The conditions of this race should suit the European raiders more than the all-conquering Japanese, who have won three of the last four renewals.

I’ve been a big follower of LANCASTER BOMBER down the years and feel he has a big race in him.

His connections must think so too, as he is always highly tried, so hopefully Saturday proves to be the day under Ryan Moore.

Last year’s winner Vivlos is a danger.

Second choice: Vivlos

17.10 - MEYDAN

TOP PICK: CLOTH OF STARS

The Sheema Classic should go to CLOTH OF STARS, who was a beaten favourite last time out but should go one better today.

He’s very consistent and this is more his trip than when second at Chantilly over an extended mile.

Hopefully we get this far, but in race four we should keep it simple with the favourite.

Idaho may give him most to do.

Second choice: Idaho
