It’s a shame to see Cheltenham abandoned this weekend as it looked a great card, and we’d have picked up a few more clues for the Festival, which is just under six weeks away now.

We’ve had some good racing in Ireland this week though, with two re-arranged fixtures from last weekend.

Colreevy was good when she won on Wednesday. She’s now three from three this season and will be a force to be reckoned with wherever she goes next - possibly the Mares’ Chase at Cheltenham .

I didn’t think Allaho was particularly spectacular when winning the Horse & Jockey Chase, but he got the job done.

He might not be as flashy as other horses but that's just the way he does it. It looks like all systems go for the Ryanair Chase  now, where his trainer may end up having a very strong hand with Min and Melon also potentials for that race.

I have to say, Sams Profile got a cracking ride by Phillip Enright in Galmoy Hurdle. It was a real war of attrition which needed plenty of stamina and he got up and won well.

It’ll be good to see where he goes next as you think he could end up in the Stayers’ Hurdle .

The most impressive winner of the week for me was Coko Beach in the Thyestes Chase on Thursday. I loved that performance! He travelled, jumped and stayed better than all of his rivals. It was some way to break your duck over fences.

He’s only six and will keep on improving, so it won’t be the last time he’s in the winners’ enclosure. He could go to the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham  .

Fairyhouse on Saturday

The opening Beginners Chase (12:20) looks like a race in which the Gordon Elliot-trained Braeside  will take all of the beating. He’s got loads of experience and was second at Navan last time behind a smart horse. 

The feature race is the Mares’ Hurdle and I think Royal Kahala  could be way above average.

She keeps on improving and the way she swept past Willie Mullins' horse, Hook Up, last time out was very impressive. This is her toughest test yet, but if she comes through with flying colours, the world could be her oyster.

My 4 To Win picks on Saturday

14:40 Doncaster

I’ve gone for Bobhopeornohope   for Kim Bailey and David Bass. They’ve both been flying, and this horse could give them another Saturday winner.

I liked the way he did it last time and although it’s a step up in class, I think he’ll like this step up in trip. He was a point-to-point winner, so you’d be confident he’ll stay.

15:15 Doncaster

It’s hard to look away from Cap Du Nord  , whose second to Royal Pagaille has been franked again when that horse absolutely bolted up at Haydock last week and is now being spoken of as a Gold Cup horse.

He’s done nothing wrong and is at the right end of the handicap.

15:50 Doncaster

The second over course and distance from The Late Legend  last time is as good as any recent form in the field. It’s a competitive race, but he’s fit and in good recent form.

In testing conditions, you’d want to be carrying as little weight as possible.

16:05 Lingfield

Nurse Dee  has seemingly improved this season having finished second and first on her last two stats. Her trainer Richard Fahey has his horses in good form, and she could go in again.
