Busy day at Ffos Las

It’s going to be a busy day for us on Thursday, with three runners at Ffos Las. We’ve had some success there recently and it would be great if it could continue!

We kick things off with Goodgirlteresa (13:50), who is back over hurdles after winning her last two over fences.

She’s quite exposed over the smaller obstacles, but we just felt it was worth a go as she’s in such good form at home. Her hurdles mark is also 6lb lower than her chase mark which makes things easier too.

The track, trip and ground all look to be in her favour, so we’ve got to be hopeful of another big run. She’d definitely be my best chance of a winner.

Clondaw’s Answer runs in the novices’ hurdle (14:25) and this will be another step in the learning process for him.

He’s a big baby and it will just be his second start over hurdles, but he should like the ground and whatever he does will tell us plenty more about him.

Our last runner of the day is Millanisi Boy in the veterans’ handicap chase (15:35).

He should come on plenty for his run at Plumpton as he had a bit of a rushed prep which meant he wasn’t quite as fit as I would have liked him.

Conditions should very much be in his favour and on the best of his form, he looks nicely handicapped. The horse isn’t getting any younger, but we’ve got Lorcan Williams taking off 5lb which is a plus.

Plan to gallop Lalor

While we’re not going to run Lalor again before Cheltenham, we do plan to give him a racecourse gallop in the next couple of weeks. We’re not quite sure where it will be yet, but we should know more by the end of the week.

He’s in great form at home and we’ve just started galloping him properly, so it’s all systems go ahead of the Arkle.

Le Richebourg was obviously impressive at Leopardstown over the weekend and he’s clearly a danger, but we’re just concentrating on our lad. He’s got the track form in the book and we’re as hopeful as we’ve ever been.

Apple’s Jade

You had to be impressed by Apple’s Jade in the Irish Champion Hurdle. She’s a top-quality mare and it’s great to see that she might take on the boys in the Champion Hurdle now. She’s got to have a big chance if she turns up.

It’s fantastic to have a mare who can compete against the opposite sex at such a high level. It’s one of the great things about racing that both boys and girls compete on a level playing field whether it’s trainers, jockeys or horses.

I’d love to see Apple’s Jade in the Champion Hurdle and hopefully she can serve it up to them because I for one thinks she’s easily good enough to.
