13:05 MUSSELBURGH

We start with the appropriately-named Betway Hair Of The Dog handicap hurdle, where I think ONE NIGHT IN MILAN   will take all the beating.

His form in his last seven runs has been superb (11F1-122) and he had every chance in his last outing when behind Notre Pari.

A proven winner over 2m 7f, I think he’s going to be tough to beat here.

13:20 SOUTHWELL

Across to Southwell for another Betway-sponsored handicap, where I think MOONRAKER   can triumph.

The eight-year-old has a 50 per cent strike rate on this course, having won four races from eight, including a two-length victory last Sunday.

Ben Curtis is a jockey I rate extremely highly and he can only help get the job done.

14:15 MUSSELBURGH

The Betway Hogmaneigh is up next, where I think favourite ASHINGTON   is looking like a really nice prospect for John Quinn.

The four-year-old had some decent success on the flat before taking really well to hurdles and is two from three so far (211).

A seven-length victory over course and distance last month is a strong form boost and, with Brian Hughes chasing that jockey title, he’s going to be the one to catch.

15:10 CHELTEHAM

We finish off at Cheltenham for Grade 2 action and I really like the chances of EMITOM .

The six-year-old has been super so far, recording five wins on the bounce before his unbeaten run came to an end in the Sefton Novices’ Hurdle.

He gave an almighty effort that day and was only three lengths behind. I think the drop back to 2m 4f should help.
