I ride at Uttoxeter on Saturday but it’s probably Sunday’s card at Ascot that looks the best of the action. I have only got the two rides, but both look to have nice chances.

First up is En Meme Temps in the maiden hurdle (14:10). He is one of Tom Lacey’s and ran really well at Wetherby last time out when finishing second behind Theatre Legend.

I think the winner was probably quite well in based on that performance and wouldn’t be surprised to see him going in again.

Barring one disappointing run at Newbury in January, he has been knocking on the door with three seconds from four runs. This trip should suit, so hopefully he can finally get his head in front.

Zafar goes in the juvenile handicap hurdle (14:45) and is probably my best ride of the weekend.

He will be suited by the step up in trip and conditions, having come a little bit unstuck when up against older horses in tacky ground at Fontwell.

He still managed to stay on for third that day and hasn’t been out of the places in his three appearances to date.

Philip Hobbs' horses are in really good form at the moment and it would be nice to continue that run. He would certainly have a good chance.

Uttoxeter on Saturday

I have five rides on Saturday, starting with Roccowithlove   for Warren Greatrex in the novices’ hurdle (14:45). It’s a small field and he will need to improve to feature among the places here.

The ground will suit and we’re hopeful he puts in a nice run, but he’s still a big baby and will certainly come on for this. He’ll be better next season.

The same can’t be said for the two-and-a-half mile handicap hurdle (15:55) which is a really big field.

I ride He’s A Goer {ODDS:398404812:SP} for Tom Lacey. He was a winner at Warwick back at the beginning of the season and bounced back to form when third at Catterick last time after a couple of poor runs.

He just didn’t act on the soft and heavy ground on his previous two appearances at Lingfield and Hereford and these conditions and trip should help.

My third ride of the day comes on Tamarillo Grove  for Sophie Leech in the 2m7f handicap hurdle (16:30). He’s a seasoned campaigner and will certainly know his job.

He’s a consistent sort and had a good few months last summer when winning a couple of races at Newton Abbot. I actually won on him a couple of years back and it would be great to do so again.

I rode a winner for Neil King last weekend and ride The Boss’s Dream  for him in the three-mile handicap chase (17:05).

He has put in solid performances of late, winning at Lingfield and placing at Warwick, and will have no issues with the ground. Hopefully he’ll go well.

My final ride on Saturday is The Milan Girl for Kim Bailey in the mares’ bumper (17:35).

She has never run before, but is owned by Paul and Clare Rooney and they tend to buy some of the better horses.

We will know a lot more about her after the race but hopefully she goes well and is one for the future.
