Rewritetherules SP is the best horse in the Hunters Chase (15:40) and, although he wasn’t at his usual best at Cheltenham, he should be able to see past his rivals here.
A Wave Of The Sea SP ran OK at Cheltenham behind The Shunter, but I was impressed with the way he won a really competitive race at the Dublin Racing Festival.
If he runs a similar race, he won’t be far away. Jody McGarvey has had a good time of it of late and this would cap off a good end of the season for him (16:15).
Demi Plie SP was a very good second at Fairyhouse behind Elimay last time and that form might just be good enough to win this race (16:50).
She’s been steadily improving without winning and might be getting the hang of it all now.
Honeysuckle 8/13 should take all of the beating in the Champion Hurdle (17:25) but, as I mentioned in my blog on Thursday, horses aren’t machines and they do get beat.
Take nothing away from her – on form she’s the best horse in the race – but it sometimes doesn’t work that way, especially at the end of a long season. I would love to see her win as we all love to see champions keep winning.
Abacadabras 10/1 is a strong traveller who will be played late, and he could pick up any pieces under Jack Kennedy.
Gaillard Du Mesnil 4/9 at Cheltenham, but I think he might be able to exact revenge here (18:00).
They’re both very good horses who are very exciting, but I liked the way that Gaillard Du Mesnil travelled at Cheltenham and this drop down in trip might help him.
Solomn Grundy SP has been consistent all season and has found his feet in this sphere.
He was a good horse in his younger days, so it’s not a surprise he’s been winning at this level this term. He was good at Fairyhouse last time and won’t mind the ground here (18:35).
I was taken by M C Muldoon SP last time despite being beaten by the impressive Echoes In Rain, who bolted up on Tuesday. Everything went wrong for him, but he stuck his head down and kept on to the line and I like that in a horse.
With Patrick [Mullins] going for the amateur jockeys’ title, you’d think he’ll be on the right one (19:05)!
I was there the day that My Mate Mozzie SP won his point-to-point and it was no surprise to see him get snapped up after.
Gavin Cromwell bought him from Mags Mullins and, with Patrick on board, it’ll be exciting to see how much he’s improved for that first run (19:35).
