With £10,000 up for grabs on Saturday, here are Chad Yeomans' best horse racing tips for Newbury and Sandown to get you started.

13:50 NEWBURY

The opening leg of Saturday's 4 To Win is a five-runner affair in which all horses are having their first start of the season.

Tom Dascombe’s horses have been performing with great credit this week and he saddles a recently-gelded son of Requinto called MORISCO .

The three-year-old went off at 50/1 on his debut in a novice race at Sandown Park but really wasn’t disgraced and it didn’t take him long to get winning.

He won a Newcastle contest over 7f and, despite not looking the easiest of rides that day, he ended up winning with a little in hand.

He ran well in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes on his next start, staying-on to finish fifth, before ending his season with an easy win when upped to 1m at Ayr.

He looks as though he’ll appreciate the step up in trip again to 1m2f and should be bang there, despite carrying top weight in this contest.

14:05 SANDOWN

This 7f handicap is a really competitive race with a field of eight going to post.

Well of Wisdom  sets the standard on the best of his two-year-old form, but he’s got to give weight around to the rest of the field and may fare better over 1m.

IMPRESSOR   made a very favourable impression during his two-year-old season.

He improved from his first run - where he was a good fourth in a very hot maiden at Goodwood - to bolt up at Salisbury on his second start.

He was pitched into much better company and, while he didn’t appreciate the firmer ground in the Mill Reef, he finished a good third on his final start in the Horris Hill at Newmarket.

He’s had wind surgery since his last racecourse appearance and if he’s race-fit first time up he’s got enough class to be winning this race.

14:25 NEWBURY

The Maggie Dickinson Fillies’ Stakes is a Listed Race over 7f and has attracted some classy names such as Preening, Farzeen and Foxtrot Lady - the latter running very well in a Group 3 at Kempton Park last week.

Despite representation from the bigger yards, the one who catches my eye here is from a smaller operation, but one that has been in good form since the return of racing.

FINAL OPTION   hails from the William Muir yard, and is one of two three-year-olds in the race that get a very handy weight allowance.

Muir’s horses aren’t usually so forward as to win first time out, but the Lambourn-based trainer has always spoken highly of this filly and his words were backed up when she bolted up on her debut.

She ran some very good races in defeat to earn her a mark of 92, but with her weight allowance, she’s well-in here. Providing the ground doesn’t get too deep, I think she’ll perform with great credit at a big price.

14:40 SANDOWN

The Scurry Stakes takes place over the flying 5f down the centre of the Sandown course, and it often pays to be drawn low.

Being drawn in stall three, SUNDAY SOVEREIGN   is berthed well enough to not be disadvantaged on his first start for Roger Varian.

He had four starts in Ireland when he was previously trained by Paddy Twomey. He was fourth on his debut in a good race at Naas but improved no end to beat Arizona by three lengths on his second stand.

He then won his third start by a staggering 11 lengths. He ran too free on his final start, which happened to be at Royal Ascot last year, when he went off a very well-backed favourite in the Norfolk Stakes.

He’s clearly got plenty of speed and ability, and this looks like a great opening on his first start for his new trainer, who has his yard in flying form.
