The Hopeful Stakes is a Listed race over 6f and includes recent Stewards’ Cup winner SUMMERGHAND 11/4.

The six-year-old has been in great form this season and has been a model of consistency and finds himself as the highest rated horse in the field.

It’s an intriguing contest that sees Jash return to the racecourse, but while he’s very talented he struggles with injuries and can’t be relied upon.

With the Richard Fahey team in great form, it could pay to side with VENTURA REBEL 7/1 who hasn’t had the best of luck in three runs this season but is Group 1 placed and has always been very highly thought of.

He suffered interference in running when he was stepped up to 7f last time out, but he stayed on well towards the end of the race and I don’t think this drop back to a stiff six will be a hindrance.

15:50 WINDSOR

The second leg is a competitive 0-65 handicap over 1m 2f.

GROUSEMAN SP made it harder for himself at Beverley last time when he took to the stands-side rail, which does have a significant disadvantage.

He’d shown promise in three starts prior to that, despite his form figures looking less than promising.

He’s got more ability than his mark of 56 has given him credit for and he should go well again.

16:10 GOODWOOD

SEINESATIONAL SP must go well if he’s in the same form as he was when winning at Sandown Park last Sunday. This time he’s under Champion Jockey Oisin Murphy.

The five-year-old has been a slow learner but has often showed plenty of promise and Sunday’s easy success appeared a coming-of-age success.

He wasn’t the best away at the start but travelled well and moved past every runner before putting the race to bed in the final furlong. If he reproduces that run, he won’t be far away.

The final leg is a 1m 2f handicap for horses rated 0-85.

DUBLIN PHARAOH SP is rated 82 but receives a weight allowance from others in the field as he’s a three-year-old.

He has always shaped like he would need this sort of distance and he now steps up from the 1m trip he was successful over earlier this year.

He has a progressive profile and is an unexposed horse in a field of exposed handicappers.
