13:30 AINTREE

The Becher Chase is a 3m2f Handicap run over the famous Grand National fences. WALK IN THE MILL 5/1 has won this race for the past two years and despite being a year old, there isn’t a lot to dislike about him.

He loves these national fences and travels with zest around the Mildmay course. He was an encouraging seventh at Ascot on his season return, which would have put him spot on for this.

Kimberlite Candy 6/1 was an impressive winner of the Classic Chase at Warwick last season and he was well fancied for the Grand National last term prior to the meeting being called off.

He’s lightly raced and was a good second in this race last year and I do expect him to go well again. All roads, however, will be leading back to Aintree in April for him.

14:47 WETHERBY

In-form and recent Doncaster scorer MANCE RAYDER SP will probably take all of the beating.

But there is big appeal for the unexposed Eurowork SP.

He looks as though he’ll be more suited by this 3m test and over the larger obstacles for the first time. He ran in above average maiden hurdles and finds himself with an opening mark of 108, which could turn out to be very generous.

He’s a point to point winner, so he’ll relish this trip and could just be the surprise improver in this race.

15:15 AINTREE

The Grand Sefton Chase is much like the Becher Chase as it’s run over the Grand National fences, but the trip is shorter as it's over 2m5f.

I’ve long expected DIDERO VALLIS 7/1 to win a big handicap chase and this could be his day. He doesn’t seem the easiest to train but the seven-year-old ran well on his comeback at Ascot last month, which would have been a great pipe-opener for this test.

He was fifth in this race last year and I expect that experience to be put to good use for the in-form Venetia Williams team.

Flying Angel 16/1 went off favourite for this race last year and ,despite his disappointing run last time out, a return to form over these fences wouldn’t be a total shock. He could outrun his price.

15:35 SANDOWN

MISTER COFFEY 2/1 could hardly have been more impressive over course and distance last month and has since been put up 10lb, but that shouldn’t stop his progression at this stage of his career.

Olly Murphy has always rated Nickolson 8/1 very highly and even said he could be the best horse he has ever trained. If things fall right for him, he could also go well.

He was second to Ribble Valley – who was third in the Grade 1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle last weekend – on his only start this season and is still largely unexposed.
