The opening leg of 4 To Win is a really competitive six-furlong sprint race.

You often see sprinters run themselves into form and I think we’ve seen that of late with DAZZLING DAN , who has dropped to a mark of 98. As a three-year-old he managed to beat Oxted – who has since won the Group 1 July Cup – off a mark of 99, which shows you the natural ability is there.

He hasn’t done badly in any of is three starts this season. 

Graceful Magic  has been running in much better company than in race and if the drop to six furlongs is a help, then she could outrun her price.

14:25 ASCOT

The one-mile handicap for 0-100 looks strong.

Trainer David O’Meara has his horses in flying form and has been winning plenty of handicaps.

His horse SHELIR  looks primed for a big run. He’s run very well in four starts this season. He has slipped from his season-opening mark of 97 to a mark of 92 and has  shown more than enough to suggest he can be competitive.

At a much bigger price, Hateya  could run into a place following some good efforts this season. She fell out of the stalls at Epsom on her penultimate start, so put a line though that run.

She was a good fourth at Goodwood last week and has the assistance of one of the best young jockeys in the world in Cieren Fallon.

15:35 ASCOT

David Simcock pitched OMNIVEGA  into a group race on his just his second ever career start as a two-year-old. That suggested that his trainer thought a great deal of him, especially as his finished midfield on his debut run.

These types of behaviours are always worth noting, as it shows that the horse must have been showing up well at home but was perhaps mentally too weak to do it on the track.

But Siyouni's son seems to have matured as a four-year-old, as he’s made light work to win each of his last three starts and finds himself on a mark of 90, which could still have room left in it.

He bolted up at Kempton Park last time out and is still unfurnished. He is clearly improving has the profile of a horse I’d rather be on in this race.

At a bigger price, Koeman  went well at Ascot last time out and a similar run could see him there at the business end of the race.

15:50 HAYDOCK

The last leg is a seven-furlong handicap for horses rated 0-90 but is very competitive.

WAR GLORY {ODDS591541954:SP} is on his lowest handicap mark for many years, but he has been running in some smarter races than this. He has shown ability on more than one occasion this season. He still has the ability to win a race as he shown when winning three on the all-weather last year.

He has, though, only ever won one turf race and that was on soft. But he has run plenty of solid races in defeat.

There are only three three-year-olds in the race and Indian Creek  looks very feasibly treated on the best of his form.

He ran well at Newmarket last week and hung left throughout. The fact that he’s back out so quickly suggests that no issues have come to light after that poor run.

He ran a big race at Sandown on his start before that and ran very well in defeat. His mark has slipped to 85 and it could be dangerous.
