15:35 Warwick – Come On Teddy (win)

Some horses just stand out as clear improvers finally getting it together and Come On Teddy is another starting to work out how to race.

He showed some good form in novice hurdles over trips that were always going to be too short for him. Since being stepped up in trip this season, he has improved hugely.

A good fourth at Uttoxeter on his first start of the season was followed up by an impressive win at Cheltenham last time. Lots of horses in this race will be using it as preperation for other targets, but he’ll need to win this or go closeto go up in the handicap and allow himself to run in the final at Cheltenham.

14:05 Market Rasen – Rowland Ward (each-way)

Only five runners go to post for this two-mile handicap hurdle, but Rowland Ward has a great chance of winning it if he can reproduce the best of his form from last season.

Being a five-year-old, we’re surely still yet to see the best of him but the form he showed last season was very smart. His win over Thyme White – who is now rated 141 – was impressive and he followed that with a good run at Cheltenham.

He ran well at Cheltenham last time out but was a bit free and has since dropped 2lbs for that. He’ll like the soft ground and should run well under Ciaran Gethings.

15:15 Market Rasen – Grangee (win)

It’s not often Willie Mullins brings horses over to England outside of the biggest fixtures, so when he brings a once-raced bumper runner over to Market Rasen, you sit up and take note.

Grangee could hardly have been more impressive when bolting up at Galway in October and this trip over, with all of the current red-tape around travelling, will surely be made easier and worthwhile if bagging the £11,390 prize pot.

She has a hot favourite to beat in Eileendover, but this mare could just be too good.

18:20 Kempton – Uncle Dick (win)

It was good to see Uncle Dick win at Wolverhampton last Thursday and it’s not a surprise to see him back out again so quickly. He was well-backed and ran with credit on all three of his starts as a two-year-old last season. He was clearly green and needed time, but the ability was there.

He was well-backed again last week and travelled powerfully and started to get the hang of things late on. He flew home to win by half a length, and he would have learnt plenty from that. Having only been put up 3lb for that, he is surely better than a 66-rated horse and will take some stopping if he’s in the same form.
