13.50 NEWMARKET
This is a nice open Group 3 to get things started and I think Karl Burke’s HAREEM QUEEN is too good a price to ignore.
The grey filly has really progressed after her first two runs (112-311), having won four from a possible six all on the all-weather.
I was very impressed with her last time out when she won the Betway Hever Sprint and I’m hopeful she can continue these good performances on turf.
Karl Burke has had three winners this week with Dubai Station’s triumph in the Betway Pavilion being the standout, so I hope he continues that run here.
14:05 NEWCASTLE
A competitive Betway Handicap is up next, where I’m swaying towards RED BOND .
His form since last year reads very nicely (112-31) and he won emphatically here by 8 ½ lengths over 1m in January.
Another nice form boost was that he beat Little Jo that day who went on to win a handicap on this course on Monday.
He will also have five lbs on the favourite Daarik so should be an each-way player.
14:25 NEWMARKET
Group 2 action is next and I think Godolphin’s good run will get even better with MAGIC LILY taking the win.
She thrashed the field here on her debut and then finished third in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile behind Laurens in just her second run in 2017.
Since a lengthy absence, she has shown great signs of recovery having won twice at Meydan and was less than two lengths behind Barney Roy in Group 1 company last time out.
I think she’s the one to beat.

We finish off with the 2000 Guineas where I just cannot see PINATUBO getting beat.
The two-year-old has had a sensational campaign, winning five from five. He has annihilated all who opposed him.
Charlie Appleby and William Buick have both said he’s progressed on really well which is very encouraging and, given the form Godolpin are in, I think we’re set for another special performance.
I do, however, think KINROSS is a good each-way bet.
He had an eight-length victory here on debut but did disappoint in the final Group 1 of the season after it was moved from Doncaster to Newcastle.
I’m going forgive that run as he was bumped a lot and preparation was not ideal but hopefully back on turf, he’ll run on to place.
