Saturday racing tips: Best bets for Doncaster, Chester and Bath

14:25 DONCASTER

We'll kick things off in the Group 2 at Doncaster, where I think Godolphin’s D’BAI will take all the beating.

He had a few disappointing runs at Deauville and Goodwood, and was also never in contention in the Diamond Jubilee, so the step back to 7f here looks a wise decision.

The four-year-old was an impressive winner over this distance in the Betway John Of Gaunt in June, beating the likes of Dutch Connection, Larchmont Lad and Tabarrak.

He also finished second in a Listed race at Windsor to Sprint Cup winner The Tin Man and was victorious in a big handicap at Meydan at the start of the year, so looks set for another big win here.

14:40 CHESTER

Moving over to Chester now, and the one that’s sticking out to me is Mark Johnston’s HOCHFIELD .

The four-year-old seems to love this course (112) following two handicap victories here last year – one over this distance and the other when he sailed home by eight lengths over 1m 6f.

Beaten by a neck here two weeks ago by Duretto reads as good form, and is a nice price here to get his head in front.

15:35 DONCASTER

Many see this as a two-horse race between Kew Gardens and LAH TI DAR , and it is the latter who I think will come out on top.

John Gosden’s filly is a perfect three from three following dominant displays at Newbury, Newmarket and York by a combined winning margin of 19¼ lengths.

She looks the real deal and has 3lb off the colts in this field, so I think she’ll take all the catching.

16:20 BATH

We'll finish off at Bath, where I think Johnston will have another winner with MASHAM STAR .

The four-year-old is one of the most experienced in the field with 47 runs under his belt, with his most recent win coming at Redcar last month.

He also won nicely over this distance at Windsor in June where he beat War Glory by two lengths.

Oliver Stammers has ridden three of his last four runs and brings his 7lb claim on board, which I think makes him the one to beat.
