14:05 Kelso - Mr Harp (each way)

We really haven’t seen the best of Mr Harp and his rating of 126 definitely doesn’t showcase the full extent of his ability.

He’ll keep on going and will love this step up in trip, too. He’s finished behind some of the better staying novices this season and his run at Warwick behind Imperial Alcazar was very good.

I think he’s a great each-way price in this open-looking handicap.

14:15 Kempton - Master The Stars (each way)

There is no telling just how good Al Zaraqaan could be, but he would certainly have to be group class to win this one in his first start of the season, while conceding weight all around.

Master The Stars, however, could also be better than a handicapper. He’s always shown plenty of promise and looked the winner for a large portion of the race on his first race back after being gelded.

He’ll appreciate this extra furlong and, with a recent run under his belt, I think he’ll go very well.

16:00 Newbury - Kalooki

The best form on offer in this race is undoubtedly Kalooki’s third in the Grade 21 Reynoldstown Chase at Ascot last time.

Yes, he was beaten easily in the end, but he showed up well for a long way before clearly not staying.

He drops back in trip to 2m4f and is back at Newbury, where he was so impressive on his debut over fences in November. I think he’ll go close under Richard Johnson.

17:45 Newbury - Petrossian

Most of the focus will be on Jonbon, who is a relative to Douvan and has a lofty price tag, but I was so impressed with Petrossian on his debut here earlier in the season.

He looked like a horse who is destined for the top and I think he’ll take all of the beating.

4 TO WIN

14:00 Doncaster – Space Traveller

Smart horse on his day, who clearly hasn’t been easy to train. If he’s back to his best, he should go well.

15:10 Doncaster – Brunch

Improved massively last season and the nature of this race should suit him well.

15:25 Newbury – Rose Of Arcadia

We’ve not seen the best of her yet and this race may have been the plan for her for some time.

15:45 Doncaster – Royal Commando

A talented horse on his day, who ran well fresh in the Commonwealth Cup last season. First time out could be the time to catch him.
