16:30 Leicester  Kingmania

Chris Wall doesn’t have the biggest stable of horses, but he does produce winners every single season and he must be very excited by Kingmania.

She caught the eye on her debut in a hot contest at Newbury and followed that with a good fourth at Pontefract. She then got her first win in great fashion at Yarmouth when stepping up to 7f.

She was put up 6lb for that success but that shouldn’t stop her on her first run of the season, especially with Wall’s horses going great guns.

17:00 Ripon  La Trinidad (each-way)

Each-way terms in this race are only two places with just six runners, but I think La Trinidad is a good horse who can win off his current mark of 86.

The 1m trip will be sharp enough for him on his first run as he will stay further than last season. He developed well last term and will appreciate quick ground. Both his jockey and trainer have been in good form of late.

18:30 Doncaster  A Star Above

William Haggas has his stable in great form for the start of this flat season and he sends four-year-old gelding A Star Above up to Doncaster on his first run of the term.

He improved well last season but ran out of steam on his final two runs, which could have been the result of a busy early part of the season. He won’t mind the conditions at Doncaster and the fantastic Cieren Fallon is in the saddle, too.

20:15 Wolverhampton  Givepeaceachance (each-way)

Givepeaceachance has been doing well over hurdles this season, but his shrewd trainer has spotted how well-handicapped he looks on the level and has found a nice opportunity for him here.

He’s run well on all of his starts at Wolverhampton in the past, and he seems a better horse after recent wind surgery. Laura Pearson, one of the most exciting young riders in the weighing room has been booked for the ride.

4 TO WIN

13:55 Sandown – Sheldon

He's a slow learner but has shown plenty of promise on each start and won’t mind the fast pace to aim at that he’ll get here. He will be played late up the stiff Sandown hill.

14:50 Haydock – Another Batt

The first time out might be the best time to catch him. Conditions are in his favour and he’s only 2lb higher than his last winning mark.

15:40 Sandown – Golan Fortune

He's been consistent this season, including in better races. This test looks perfect for him and he should go well under Tom Scudamore.

17:25 Sandown – Solo

He's been largely disappointing this season, but because of that is now looking more fairly handicapped. Good ground and this trip could see improvement from him.
