14:37 YORK - PYTHAGORAS (each-way)

While he’s not achieved his supposed potential, Pythagoras has run well in his defeats this season.

It was only a few runs ago he was beaten just 6l in the Dante behind subsequent multiple Group 1 winner, Hurricane Lane. He was also only beaten 5l in a strong handicap – where he went off a well-backed 3/1 favourite – at Sandown in July. Slipping down the weights, he is starting to look like an attractive proposition, especially getting weight from his rivals.

His yard does very well on the Knavesmire too.

15:35 NEWMARKET - NATE THE GREAT (each-way)

The Cesarewitch has long been a race that has looked tailormade for Nate The Great who is really yet to live up to the potential he showed as a juvenile. Looking through his form, he’s has been carefully prepared for an Autumn campaign with this race likely having been at the top of his agenda for a long time.

He was a winner off this mark in February, albeit on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. Trained by Betway ambassador Andrew Balding, the five-year-old ran well over 1m4f at Newbury last time and that run would have put him spot on for this. With Betway paying seven places, he could find himself in the placings.
