15:25 Sandown - Dejame Paso (each-way) SP
Back on his favoured quicker ground, I expect Dejame Paso to leave his last run well behind.
He wasn’t at home on the rain-softened ground but ran well for a long time, just as he did on his penultimate start at Ascot.
I think he’ll be ridden prominently by Jason Watson and could take some pegging back if he’s in the lead coming up the hill.
16:50 York - La Trinidad (each-way) SP
It’s fair to say that La Trinidad is looking very nicely handicapped of his current mark of 83.
He ran well here in a better race than this last month and has been dropped 2lbs for that.
He’s often run well here in the past and I expect him to go very close again, with conditions in his favour.
16:30 Chester - Arctic Vega (each-way) SP
Arctic Vega is, on official rating and to my eye, the best horse in this race, and off this mark should take all of the beating.
The caveat, though, is that he has the widest draw of all, which at Chester is often a real hindrance.
That said, he’s got the ability to win this race, so if he does break well from the stalls and gets into a good position early, he should be very tough to beat.
4 TO WIN
14:10 Chester - Glory Fighter SP
Often goes well at Chester and wasn't beaten far in a hotter race than this at York last time.
14:50 Sandown - Dogged 5/1
Haven’t seen the best of this horse yet. Will improve from his first start of the season.
15:40 York - Showalong 11/2
Improving horse who was a good winner at Chester last time.
17:25 York - I Am A Dreamer SP
Course-and-distance winner who won’t mind this quicker ground.
