13:55 Windsor - Epic Endeavour

There was something about the way Epic Endeavour won at Windsor last season that suggested he was a horse who was still improving. He won in such an authoritative manner that it wasn’t difficult to see him in Group races this season.

He ran well on his season debut at Sandown last month, but clearly needed the run and with that under his belt, he can be very tough to beat off a mark of 90 with conditions in his favour.

15:20 Chester - Cairn Island (each-way)

Not many races will work out better than the race that Cairn Island ran in at Newmarket on his seasonal comeback. Three of the first five were winners at Royal Ascot, with the form being franked to a high level.

Cairn Island was highly tried as a juvenile and can now crack on in his career, starting with a good run on the Roodee. He’s drawn in stall six, which isn’t ideal, but his class should see him through. He has cheekpieces on for the first time.

15:35 Windsor - Bounce The Blues

It was disappointing to see Bounce The Blues come out of the Duke Of Cambridge at Royal Ascot last week as I think she had a very good chance before the forecast rain.

She is a smart filly who ran very well on her seasonal debut at Doncaster before needing further than the 7f trip at Lingfield last time.

Back to 1m on rain-softened ground, she should take all the beating, especially getting weight from her rivals under Martin Dwyer

4 TO WIN

14:05 Newmarket - Fabiosa

Has run well on every start in her career and has shaped as though this step up in trip will suit.

14:20 Newcastle - Chil Chil

Was explosive at Newmarket last time and could still be improving.

15:15 Newmarket - Royal Crusade

Was highly-tried as a juvenile and is still unexposed.

15:30 Newcastle - Lucky Deal

Ran well for a long day way at Royal Ascot. This track and trip should suit him better.
