Our tipster reveals his two best bets for the York Ebor Festival and Goodwood on Saturday.

15:50 Goodwood

Dal Horrisgle SP

William Haggas knows what it takes to win the March Stakes - he’s taken home this prize twice in the past ten years with similar types to his horse in this years’ renewal, Dal Horrisgle.

The Nathaniel colt finished fifth on his debut but learned as the race went on and wouldn’t have loved the soft ground he faced that day. He then won his next three starts in good fashion, needing every yard of the trip to make a successful surge at each attempt.

He was a huge mover in the ante-post betting for the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood and raced up that dreaded far rail. He didn’t face much traffic but wouldn’t have seen much daylight until the race had gone from him and he stayed on well to and through the line, prompting this step up in trip again.

Sir Ron Priestley SP will no doubt lead this field, but I’m confident Tom Marquand will leave it late to swoop to victory.

16:10 York

Treble Treble SP

Plenty has been said this week about the strength of Kevin Ryan’s juvenile team this season, and plenty of them are clearly very talented.

One of his horses who really took my eye with the way he moved and put the race to bed was Treble Treble, who won at Haydock in the manner of a horse who is going to go on to be group class.

He clearly possesses lots of natural pace and has been dropped back to 5f. Despite being entered in a couple of the group races this week, he has ended up in what looks a very winnable Listed contest.
