13:05 ASCOT

We’ll start off with the Shergar Cup where I think FINAL VENTURE can get the Girls’ team off to a good start.

Paul Midgley’s sprinter completed a hat-trick of seconds last time out when finishing behind Epsom Dash winner Ornate.

He’s put in some good performances in handicaps behind Dakota Gold, Tarboosh and El Astronaute, which is nice form in this field.

Australian jockey Jamie Kah made headlines with her comments on the lack of opportunity for female jockeys in British racing, so hopefully she can show her class here.

14:30 HAYDOCK

Over to Haydock now for the Fillies & Mares Listed race where I think Ralph Beckett’s FELICIANA DE VEGA is the one to watch.

She impressed in her two victories last year, powering home by six lengths on debut before another dominant performance in Listed action at Deauville.

I think Beckett could have another nice filly here and I’m backing her to remain unbeaten on her seasonal debut.

15:05 HAYDOCK

Group 3 action now and I’m backing WISSAHICKON to bounce back from his shock defeat in the Betway Middle Distance Championships last time out.

The colt has put in some tremendous performance, including victory in the 2018 Cambridgeshire and 2019 Betway Winter Derby.

Eight wins and two seconds from 11 runs is an outstanding record and, with Frankie Dettori, in the best form of his career, I think he can get the better of Addeybb.

15:45 NEWMARKET

We’ll finish with another Group 3 at Newmarket where LIGHT BLUSH looks the best filly.

A course-and-distance victory on debut at the July meeting was pretty impressive, though she was beaten last time out by Walk In Marrakesh.

William Buick takes the ride for the first time and I’m hoping he can get her back to winning ways.
