Our tipster reveals his best bets for a busy day of racing at Haydock and Ascot as well as a win double and a Lucky 15.

13:15 HAYDOCK

We're starting with a competitive Chase at Haydock, where I think Fergal O’Brien’s JARVEYS PLATE 9/4 is the one to beat.

The six-year-old has a solid CV with three wins, one second and two thirds from seven runs and was a very impressive winner on his chase debut, finishing ahead of Reserve Tank and Posh Trish.

The fact that he was over four lengths ahead of Reserve Tank that day, who has since gone on to claim Grade 2 success in the Rising Stars Novices’ Chase, is a massive form boost.

He’s a solid jumper and should have no issues with the 2m5f trip, so I think he’s the one to catch.

14:25 HAYDOCK

We move on to Grade 3 action over hurdles next and I like the look of Willie Mullins’ EIGHT AND BOB 10/1.

He’s a versatile six-year-old, having proved himself over hurdles and on the flat. He finished second in two races at the Galway Festival and also got back to winning ways over obstacles last month.

A hard-fought victory at Gowran Park in Grade B action was a nice warm up and, having proven himself over 3m, I think 10/1 is a very big price.

14:40 ASCOT

We're moving across to the Grade 2 Ascot Hurdle now, where I think ROKSANA 5/2 can get back to winning ways for the Skeltons.

She won the Mares Hurdle at Cheltenham, albeit due to Benie Des Dieux falling at the last, and has since had two narrow defeats to If The Cap Fits and Top Notch.

She’s only finished outside the top two once in her last eight outings and I think she’ll get the job done here.

15:00 HAYDOCK

We finish off with the Betfair Chase, in which  I think LOSTINTRANSLATION 13/8 can stop Bristol De Mai claiming a hat-trick.

Colin Tizzard’s seven-year-old has been phenomenal in 2019, finishing runner-up to Defi Du Seuil twice before a six-length victory in the Betway Mildway Chase.

He put in a superb round of jumping at Carlisle last time out and if he can cope with the step up in trip, he will be a serious Gold Cup contender.
