13:40 NEWMARKET

It's an open field as these fillies contest the 1m 2f, but I’m slightly drawn towards Roger Varian’s NEAROOZ .

She won here as a 20/1 shot on debut and has since picked up two wins and two seconds from five runs.

A pretty commanding performance on the AW last time out was impressive, so I’m hoping she can replicate that here.

Next up is the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes, where I fancy William Haggas’ FAYLAQ to continue his good run of form.

The Dubawi colt has three wins and a second from his last three, with that runner-up coming on this course in July where he finished ahead of Almania and Mind The Crack.

He is proven over this distance and carries 6lbs less than favourite Morando. I think he’s the one to beat.

Laurens won this race last year but her recent form troubles me so I’m going to have to take her on.

The one I really fancy is LAVENDER’S BLUE  .

She’s won two from four and I was at Sandown when she powered home in the Betway Atlanta Stakes. I couldn’t help but be impressed.

She flopped in the Epsom Oaks, but also has a narrow defeat to Queen Power and a course-and-distance victory on debut to boost her form.

I think she’s very overpriced in this field.

We're finishing off with more Group 3 action from Ascot and I’m going for course specialist CAPE BYRON to get the win.

He was the winner of the Victoria Cup and the Wokingham, which set the standard at the start of the season. But he couldn’t cope with the step up to Group 1 when he flopped in the July Cup.

He notched a decent third behind Laurens and Shine So Bright in the City Of York Stakes last time out, showing signs of his best form.

Dropping down in class and trip and back on his favourite course, I think Atzeni can get him back to winning ways.
