2.00 – Class 2 Handicap Chase (Cheltenham)

This 3m 1f race will be all about stamina and one who should do well is Nigel Twiston-Davies’ COGRY  .

He won a handicap hurdle here last January, beating the likes of Rocklander and Fingal Bay when by rode William Twiston-Davies.

His brother, Sam, is the one to take the saddle here and he boasts a very successful record on board with four wins and two seconds from eight rides.

The eight-year-old just missed out in the Scottish Grand National last time out, beaten by a neck.

He is well-handicapped at 10-5 so I think he’s a tasty each-way price.

2.15 – Group 3 Stakes (Newbury)

Godolphin has two big chances here with Frontiersman and Best Solution  .

But the one I fancy is Richard Hannon’s DANEHILL KODIAC .

I was at Ascot a few weeks ago and he really impressed me when fighting on well to beat well-fancied French colt Waldgeist.

He carried a lot more weight that day and, as top weight at 9-7, a similar task faces him on Saturday.

He also finished a decent second on this course in the Dubai Duty Free Handicap last month carrying 9-12, and was very impressive at Newmarket in August when powering home by 3½ lengths.

Sean Levey has a decent record on board (523-141) and I think his price is too good to ignore.

3.25 – Racing Post Trophy (Doncaster)

Aidan O'Brien has four entered in the UK's final Group 1 of the flat season as he bids to make history with 26 winners.

However, I think he could be denied by John Gosden’s ROARING LION .

The colt is unbeaten with a perfect three wins from three, including at Kempton by six lengths in September.

The Lodge Stakes last time out was his toughest run yet but he still managed to get the better of O’Brien's odds-on favourite Nelson that day.

Oisin Murphy has ridden his last two victories and he is a real threat to complete the hat-trick on Saturday.

If there is any heavy rain on the day then keep your eyes on CHILEAN as an each-way shout.

Andrea Atzeni is the man on board and will be looking to make history by winning this race for the fifth consecutive year.

4.00 – Class 2 Handicap (Doncaster)

There’s a decent handicap to finish the day and I’ve been torn between the two Richard Fahey horses.

After much deliberation, I’m going to go for BOUNDSY  .

I tipped him on his last two victories – when 3/1 at Chester and then 10/1 at Haydock – which were both hard-fought wins where he really dug in deep.

The three-year-old comes into the race in fantastic form, having finished in the top two in his last six races (221-211).

Paul Hanagan is the man on board and rode two of those runner-up spots, but I’m confident he can go one better this time at a very nice price.
