13:50 ASCOT

I was at Newbury when SAM BROWN   won a bumper on his second start and have been a big fan since.

Unfortunately he suffered a big setback when he got injured towards the end of 2017, but his return over fences has been very impressive.

He’s two from two so far, winning by a combined 37 lengths from both trips, and I think he can pose a real threat to Pym here.

A wide-open handicap is up next, and I think DOMAINE DE L’ISLE   should go well.

He’s won his last three and was particularly impressive on this course last time out – beating the likes of Bennys King and Happy Diva.

He's well handicapped here and, with soon-to-be champion jockey Brian Hughes on board, he looks a good bet.

15:00 ASCOT

This is another really open handicap where I think NORDANO   looks a nice each-way bet.

Neil King’s four-year-old has a decent record with two wins, one second and two thirds from six runs, including impressive finishes behind Triumph Hurdle favourites Allmankind and Goshen.

He is nicely handicapped at 10-0 which is a big advantage, and should be among the top three.

15:15 HAYDOCK

We end with Grade 3 action in the Grand National Trial where I think the ever-consistent GERONIMO   has a big chance.

He’s finished in the top three in 10 of his 11 runs, with the only exception being when he was pulled up at Ayr.

I actually think he ran well here in the Peter Marsh behind Definitly Red and Vintage Clouds, so that’s a strong form boost.

He’s bottom weight, travels well and should have the stamina for 3m 4f, so I think he’s got each-way value.
