14:05 NEWBURY

We start with the Veterans' Chase where I think 13-year-old THEATRE GUIDE   is a solid choice.

He actually had a fairly consistent 2019 with two seconds - one coming in this race and the other in the Sandown Veterans' Chase behind Houblon Des Obeaux.

His reappearance in that same race was also very impressive as he fought to the line with Jepeck and Regal Flow in a thrilling finish.

I rate Jonjo O’Neill Jnr very highly and his mount only enhances his chances here.

14:25 DONCASTER

DOLOS   has had a solid season so far and I think he’ll claim another win here.

Finishing runner-up to Janika in the Haldon Gold Cup was impressive, and he also beat First Flow in a Betway-sponsored handicap in early February.

I can dismiss his run in the Tingle Creek as he was out his depth but, having said that, he was less than two lengths behind Sceau Royal so I think he can defy top weight here.

14:45 KELSO

Grade 2 hurdle action next and, after Richard Johnson has come back to fight for champion jockey, I think Brian Hughes will pick up a much-needed win on board CLONDAW CAITLIN .

She’s three from a possible four and unbeaten over hurdles after dominant displays at Wetherby and Newcastle.

I think Ruth Jefferson could have a really smart mare here with a lot of potential.

15:57 KELSO

We finish off with another handicap at Kelso and I’m expecting another win for Brian Hughes, this time on BLACK PIRATE .

The eight-year-old’s record is superb so far, and he won a really hard-fought victory here last time out when he just got up to Ebony Jewell.

This is a tough field with last year’s winner Bialco and Sutton Manor but I still think he’ll prove too good.
