13:25 NEWBURY

We’ve a very open handicap hurdle to kick us off, but I think DOLPHIN SQUARE   looks the best bet.

Four wins from seven is strong form for Philip Hobbs’ star, who has proven stamina over 3m.

He is top weight at 11-12 but won last time out at Ludlow carrying the same, so I think he should go well.

14:05 WARWICK

Grade 2 action up next in the Kingmaker, where NUBE NEGRA   will be tough to beat.

He’s been brilliant over fences after winning his first two comfortably and was only just behind Esprit Du Large in the Henry VIII Chase at Sandown in December.

A solid jumper who is proven over course and distance, I think he’s the one to beat.

14:40 WARWICK

A strong Listed Mares’ Hurdle is up next, and the one who has caught my eye is COPPER GONE WEST  .

She was a respectable runner-up behind Silver Forever at Sandown last time out, finishing 11 lengths ahead of Indefatigable, who didn’t handle the soft ground.

The seven-year-old has a strong CV with three wins and four seconds from 11 runs and looks a big price in this field.

15:35 NEWBURY

I’ve followed NEVER ADAPT   very closely since her debut and think she’ll go well here.

She ran like a lunatic in that first race at Cheltenham but still managed to finish third despite wasting a lot of her energy.

Another third at the same course one year on on was a good comeback, and she then finally got off the mark with a strong win at Kempton last month.

Proven over 2m, if Barry Geraghty can keep her calm, then she’ll have every chance.

The other one I like as an each-way bet is LIGHTLY SQUEEZE  .

Harry Fry’s six-year-old has really impressed me recently with three smart victories in a row by a combined 28 lengths.

This is obviously a huge step up in class but he looks a tasty price.
