13:15 SANDOWN

GINO TRAIL  won this race last year and I’m confident for his chances of repeating that triumph.

The 12-year-old has only finished outside the top three twice from 15 runs for Kerry Lee, and put in commendable performances in the Grand Annual and Red Rum Handicap last season.

A superb front-runner who has champion jockey Richard Johnson in the saddle for the first time, I think he’s the one to beat.

13:25 LEOPARDSTOWN

The Irish Champion Hurdle is the first of many Grade 1s this weekend, and APPLE’S JADE  is going to be tough to beat.

Following back-to-back defeats to Benie Des Dieux at the end of last season, the seven-year-old has responded emphatically this campaign and is a perfect three from three.

She won a Grade 1 here over 3m at the end of December and also boasts a 20-length victory over last year’s winner of this race, Supasundae.

Despite the drop back to 2m, I think she’s all set to claim another Grade 1 en route to the Mares’ Hurdle at the Festival.

14:20 LINGFIELD

We have a Betway handicap in the fourth race at Lingfield, where I like the look of HIGHLAND ACCLAIM  .

The eight-year-old has 85 runs under his belt and hit some decent form (2221) towards the end of 2018.

A dead-heat victory on this course last time out over 7f sets him up nicely here and I think he’ll relish the drop back down to 6f.

14:25 SANDOWN

Finishing off with another Grade 1 in the Scilly Isles Novices’ Chase, and I think Kim Bailey’s VINNDICATION  will remain unbeaten.

The six-year-old is a flawless six from six over obstacles and was particularly impressive last time out when claiming a Grade 2 at Ascot, beating Jerrysback, Lil Rockerfeller and Count Meribel.

A brilliant jumper and proven over this distance, I think he’s going to be very difficult to beat.
