Saturday horse racing tips for Goodwood, Curragh, Haydock

With money back as a free bet up to £20 in all ITV races if your horse finishes second, our tipster reveals his best Saturday horse racing tips.

13:55 GOODWOOD

We begin with ITV’s opener, where I like the look of EXTRA ELUSIVE .

Three wins and two seconds from seven runs is decent form for this colt. He did not disgrace himself when third last time out behind Crystal Ocean and Knight To Behold in Group 3 company.

He is proven over this distance, so stepping down in class should help Roger Charlton’s star get back to winning ways.

15:35 CURRAGH

We now go across to Ireland, where many see this as a battle between Too Darn Hot and MAGNA GRECIA . I fancy the latter to complete a Guineas double.

He won back-to-back Group 1s following a hard-fought victory at Doncaster, and then was in superb form as he romped home by two-and-a-half lengths in the 2000 Guineas.

There is just the narrow defeat to Andre Fabre’s superb Persian King on his CV and he looks a real force over a mile. I think he’s going to be tough to beat.

If you want an each-way bet then I’d take a chance on PHOENIX OF SPAIN .

After a slightly disappointing debut, he bounced back to win two on the bounce, including the Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York.

He’s been a runner-up behind Too Darn Hot and MAGNA GRECIA, the latter by just a head, so I think he’ll go well here.

15:40 GOODWOOD

We go back to Goodwood for another Listed race, where I’m taking a chance on DANEHILL KODIAC .

The colt is dropping back to 1m 3f, which is the distance at which he beat Waldgeist at Ascot.

He put in a decent effort last time out behind Weekender, and I’m hoping Sean Levey can get that first win since October 2017.

16:00 HAYDOCK

The final tip comes in the Temple Stakes, where we can expect nothing but pace.

Battaash won this last year, but I think KACHY is the one to catch here.

As always, he had a superb all-weather campaign, winning three from three by a combined 12 lengths and was impressive in the Betway Sprint Championships.

Slightly concerning is that he is 0/5 on this course, but he was third here last year and there was barely a head between him and the winner.

I’m just hoping he can maintain his all-weather form on the grass.
