13:50 NEWBURY

We're kicking things off with the Denford Stakes in the battle of the two-year-old’s and I’m struggling to see past JUAN ELCANO .

His hard-fought victory on debut over Subjectivist deserves a lot of praise, while he also ran really well when second to Mystery Power in the Superlative Stakes in Group 2 action.

Seven furlongs looks the ideal trip for Kevin Ryan’s star and I’m quite confident with Andrea Atzeni in the saddle.

Another Atzeni ride I like is Ed Walker’s GEORGE WILLIAM .

This six-year-old had some decent success for former trainer Richard Hannon, including a runner-up in the 2017 Victoria Cup.

He finished second on course and distance last month, but was well beaten by Makzeem that day.

I do think that performance showed some encouraging signs and I’m hoping he can get his first win since October 2017.

The Hungerford Stakes is up next and I’m very keen on John Quinn’s SAFE VOYAGE .

He made it a hat-trick of successive wins at Haydock when he won the Betway John of Gaunt Stakes in a very impressive outing.

He put up a valiant effort when third last time out in the Minstrel Stakes behind Hey Gaman and Romanised.

That was strong form considering Romanised’s impressive Group 1 triumph in Deauville last Sunday.

Jason Hart has a great record on board and looks the man to claim this Group 2 prize.

16:30 NEWMARKET

We finish off with a Fillies’ handicap at Newmarket, where I fancy OYDIS  to complete a hat-trick of wins.

She finally got off the mark at Windsor in June, edging out Bug Boy.

She also dominated the field last time out at Salisbury, powering home by eight lengths as a 10/1 shot that day.

That victory was over 1m 6f. If she can produce something similar here, she’ll be tough to beat.
