The first leg of 4 To Win is a tricky handicap for horses rated 0-105 over fiver furlongs.

MAKANAH  is clearly a horse who is still improving, and the Julie Camacho-trained five-year-old was a good winner of a tougher race than this at Newmarket in June.

He is still quite lightly-raced, which could suggest that he’s not the easiest to train, but he’s often shown promise and if the 43-day break between his last run and this has been worthwhile, then he could be one to side with.

Charlie Hills has some superb sprinters in his yards and A Momentofmadness runs for the Lambourn trainer here.

On his best form, he’s got a huge chance and he’s down to his lowest mark in three years.

He didn't run badly at Doncaster on his comeback outing, which would have put him spot on for this race. It’s worth bearing in mind, though, that he’s never won at York despite various attempts and that he could want an easier five furlongs than this.

14:50 NEWBURY

The Weatherby’s Super Sprint is always a large-field rush down the five-furlong straight at Newbury. There are often some well-handicapped horses lurching in this race.

It’s always difficult to pick out just one selection, so I’ll mention a few who have all impressed.

Happy Romance ran a huge race over the minimum distance at Royal Ascot and clearly has ability for his trainer Richard Hannon, who always targets this race and has a splendid record, too.

Get It ran in a hot maiden first time out and then ran a massive race to finish fourth at Royal Ascot. While winning a maiden would be a formality for this horse, the prize money on offer here has been enough to lure his connections into running him.

LULLABY MOON  bolted up on his debut for Joseph Tuite and has since been purchased by new owners and moved to Michael Bell.

He put distance between himself and his rivals on his debut at Goodwood and impressed on the clock, too.

Tinochio, Enduring and Ocean Eyes are all others that could be competitive.

15:05 YORK

The Summer Fillies’ Stakes has 19 runners declared and is a wide-open contest that sees plenty in with a chance.

BREATHTAKING LOOK  finished second to Oxted at Newmarket last month and she is running off very favourable terms in the contest. She ran okay in the Diamond Jubilee last time, despite only beating one home, but is back down to her level now.

Queen Jo Jo has run some very good races in defeat, including a good effort at York as a two-year-old, although she may prefer the ground with a bit of juice in.

Dark Lady won the Group 3 Dick Poole as a two-year-old, and if she’s come on for her first of the season at Windsor, she could run very well under William Buick.

15:25 NEWBURY

It’s fair to say that Fox Tal was slightly disappointing in the Wolferton Handicap at Royal Ascot, but if he is in the same form that he showed last year, when he was fourth in the Champion Stakes at Ascot, he’s going to be very tough to beat.

He’s clearly not straightforward, though, and certainly isn’t one to set your watch by.

At a slightly bigger price, EXTRA ELUSIVE  is worth a look. He comes here off the back off a good run at Ascot, when he did manage to finish one place ahead of Fox Tal.

He hasn’t won since August 2018, but he did post some good efforts last year, including a good second in a Listed race at Sandown in July.

Raakib Alhawa seems to need very quick ground and if he gets his optimum conditions then he could outrun his price, too.
