It is a low-key end to the week after a thrilling five days of action at Goodwood, though the popular mixed-card fare at Galway continues and we have a solid bet at the west of Ireland track amongst our four selections.

Current Option SP (Galway 16:00)

Noble Style 15/8 (Chester 15:38)

Guinness Affair 5/6 (Market Rasen 14:45)

Cilluirid 4/1 (Market Rasen 15:20)

Current Option to bring up the four-timer

The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Ahonoora Premier Handicap is the feature race of Day 7 of the Galway Festival and CURRENT OPTION SP is going for a fourth consecutive win in this 7f contest. The Ado McGuinness-trained 7yo has won this off marks of 99, 105 and 97 but has dropped down to a mark of 95 for this year's renewal and can complete the four-timer. His form has been mixed this season but he comes alive at this track and ran much better than his finishing position suggests earlier in the week at Galway when pulling hard and getting no luck in running over 1m. The drop back to 7f will suit him well and, while this is a competitive affair, it is difficult to oppose such a race specialist. There have been two examples this year of horses winning at this meeting after running earlier in the week and he can follow that trend. His stablemates Laugh A Minute and No More Porter are significant dangers, along with Joseph O'Brien's rapidly improving Hotrocket.

Noble Style to get back on track

The Net World Sports Queensferry Stakes is the feature race at Chester and it sees the once hugely promising Godolphin runner NOBLE STYLE 15/8 dropping down to Listed company after contesting Group 1 races on two of his last three starts. He ran creditably in the 2000 Guineas but was below form in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. Gelded since and with blinkers added, he aims to get his career back on track in this 6f event and really should win this if anywhere near his best. Ehraz is a useful sprinter who will handle the easy ground and looks his main danger, while Fast Response was bitterly disappointing at Goodwood earlier in the week after running well over 7f here.

Guinness Affair and Cilluirid to keep winning

The card at Market Rasen is restricted to riders who have ridden 20 or fewer winners in GB in 2022. GUINNESS AFFAIR 5/6, ridden by the very capable Micheal Nolan, can bring up a three-timer over fences by taking the joint feature race, the Illumina Diagnostics Novices Handicap Chase. Last-time-out course winner CILLUIRID 4/1 can take the other joint-feature, the Gardiner Hill Foundation Chase under 3lb claiming conditional Tom Midgley. Though Tim Easterby's charge is up in trip today, he can confirm form with the re-opposing Croagh Patrick.
