The Ulster National is the highlight of the card at Downpatrick on Sunday and I’ve found two horses that I think are worth keeping on side.

The first horse is an obvious selection - Ifyoucatchmenow 4/1 for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend.

I’m a big fan of horses that get handicapped after running down the field - but with some promise - in good novice races and that is what this mare has done.

The winners of her three races over fences were Zero Ten, Cut The Mustard and Minella Indo, all of which have proved to uphold their form.

She then absolutely hacked up over 3m4f last time and she could still be well-handicapped.

The other horse I like is probably going to be a big price, but on his best form he’s as good as any horse in the race.

Space Cadet 20/1 is now a 10-year-old, so doesn’t have youth on his side, but is full of experience and came a very good fifth behind Cap York last time out in the Leinster National.

He could give us a good run for our money with conditions set to suit.

Ballyadam SP arrived on his racecourse debut with a lofty reputation, which helped him to go off at 1-4 on his first start for Gordon Elliott.

There had been plenty of rumours going around about this horse being smart and impressing plenty at home.

He looked big and raw and his better days are to come. Looking back, the field of his debut run was a lot stronger than this field.

With normal improvement, he should be very tough to beat in this race.

There are a few unknown quantities coming into this race, but they’d have to be way above average to topple Ballyadam first time out.
