With Betway giving away a £5 free bet when you place a £1-per-line Yankee any day this week, here is my take on Thursday's cards.

LEG 1: SHESHOON SONNY (12:40 Market Rasen)

Sheshoon Sonny has run three times this season and performed with credit each time.

He will be ready if this race becomes a battle after the last.

His trainer, Alan King, has always thought a lot of him and has found an opportunity for him at a course where he has a 19 per cent strike rate.

LEG 2: SOUTH SEAS (12:50 Ludlow)

The opening race on the card at Ludlow is a Novices’ Hurdle and, on form, there are only three in with a chance.

Of those, I’m a big fan of South Seas for Dan and Harry Skelton. He was a very useful horse on the flat, with his highest official mark being 110.

He was a good second on his hurdling debut at Southwell, before finding Kempton too tight on Boxing Day, despite going well for a large portion of the race.

LEG 3: GOSHEVEN (13:50 Ludlow)

For readers of the Betway Insider, you’ll know that I fancied Gosheven at Exeter on Tuesday before that meeting was abandoned.

We haven’t seen the best of him yet, but he’s bound to have come on for his recent racecourse experience after a long lay-off. He should be tough to beat under Richard Johnson.

LEG 4: KODI KOH (16:30 Newcastle)

Kodi Koh went into my notebook last Thursday when he ran at Newcastle. He was a huge eye-catcher with the way he travelled.

He looked as though he’d be right in the mix coming in to 2f out, but never picked up the way he could have, finishing fourth. Dropped backed to a mile, he should go close off the same mark as last week.
