The opening race on the card at Clonmel sees a field of 16 go to post for a relatively weak maiden hurdle.

On all known form, Farmix  sets the standard on what he’s achieved so far.

He came fourth in a bumper at Punchestown before finishing second on his next two starts, and this could well be time to get off the mark under jockey Donagh Meyler.

He does need to jump better in his races, but I think that will come with racing experience.

This 2m4f Chase is the feature race on the card with a select, but competitive, field of five.

I flagged Bachasson  last week as a horse that went under the radar at Cheltenham, and he returns back over fences here.

He’s got plenty of class and race fitness on his side, but I’d have preferred to see him back over hurdles rather than fences.

The fact Willie Mullins is opting to run him so soon after the Festival suggests he’s going well at home and thriving following that outing.

I also think that Mortal  has a huge race in him and this could well be it.

His first two runs this season weren’t anything to write home about, but he was a lot better at Leopardstown last time.

He finished fifth in the RSA Chase in 2019, so has proven that he has raw ability, and the drop back in trip here could help him under promising young jockey, Oakley Brown.
