With Betway offering money back as a free bet if your horse finishes second in all of Wednesday's races at Lingfield, here’s my take on the card.
SHAMAMEYA 9/4 (13:10)
Shamameya will take all the beating in the second race of the day.
Despite not finishing in the frame in any of her first three starts, the four-year-old did run much better than that form suggests and certainly took a huge step forward when she ran in her first handicap at Wolverhampton a few weeks ago.
She got going a little too late but was only narrowly beaten, and is running off the same mark of 67 again here.
Jamie Spencer steps up for the ride for trainer David Simcock, who has saddled two winners recently.
BADRI 9/4 (13:45)
It appears Dark Silver will be the odds-on favourite in this race and, with his trained Ed Walker in red-hot form, you can see why plenty of people will find him appealing.
He hasn’t managed to win in nine career starts to date, though, and although he tends to run on well at the end of a race, he does seem to always find one opponent too good.
That could be the case again here and I'd be looking at whichever horse garners market support.
I think that'll come from the Charlie Hills-trained Badri, who has performed well in his only two runs, both of which were stronger races than this.
He flew home at Kempton on his last start in October and must be showing all the right signs for his stable to get him out this early in the year.
