With Betway offering money back as a free bet if you finish second at Lingfield Park today, I’ve had a look at the Betway Handicap.
It looks as though EL GHAZWANI is going to go off favourite for Hugo Palmer and jockey James Doyle, who has a superb record at Lingfield Park.
He has been running in much better races than this and could end up being well-handicapped off a mark of 85, as his last win – in May this year – was off a mark of 90.
He was well supported overnight and has an obvious favourite’s chance at a course where he has won on three occasions.
He was struck into last time over course and distance, which was a reason he didn’t finish the race as well as he could, despite going off the 6/4 favourite in a hotter contest.
He should take all the beating today.
