With £10,000 up for grabs on day 3 at the York Ebor Festival, here are Chad Yeomans' best horse racing tips.

13:50 YORK

The opening leg of 4 To Win is the Group 3 Strensall Stakes over 1m 1f and features 2018’s winner, Lord Glitters .

He hasn’t been successful since winning the Group 1 Queen Anne at Royal Ascot last year but has run well in defeat in a few starts since. Everything needs to drop right for him, but on his day, he’s by far the best horse in this race.

As he’s not overly reliable, it’s worth keeping Pogo  on your side, too. This four-year-old has really come of age and improved no end this season. In four starts this term, he is yet to finish outside the first three.

He was a good winner of a competitive handicap here last year, so he does act on the Knavesmire, and will also appreciate the ground drying up.

14:25 YORK

It’s never easy to find the winner of the Melrose Handicap and this year is no different.

He’s becoming an expensive horse to follow, but Kipps  still possesses huge amounts of potential and this race could be run to suit him. He’s going up in trip again and this could be the making of a horse who was once touted as a possible Derby contender.

His three starts this year have brought two seconds and a fourth, so he’s clearly a slow learner, but I’m convinced that he’s full of talent, and once it clicks, we’ll see a much better horse.

15:40 YORK

The Ebor is a very tough race to win and an even tougher one to call.

I’ve long thought that Trueshan  was going to be the perfect type for this race and I’ve no reason to change my mind now.

He’s trained by one of, if not, the best, dual-purpose trainers in Alan King and has won five of his eight career starts. I still think this horse is a proper Group horse – he’s got loads of class, as he showed last time when winning the Tapster Stakes at Haydock.

I’m also not convinced we’ve seen the best of Ranch Hand , who is trained by Betway ambassador Andrew Balding.

He’s still lightly raced and has always struck me as a horse who is still learning. I think he would be much more suited to a fast-paced, staying handicap, which he gets here.

PJ McDonald has been booked for the ride and, if you had backed his rides for Andrew Balding to a £1 level stake, you’d be comfortably in profit.

16:40 YORK

Sinjaari  bolted up over course and distance in the John Smith’s Cup last month, winning in the style of a much-improved horse.

He has some great form in the book from his three-year-old career, but it was the coming-of-age performance last time out that showed he could still progress into a Group horse. 

Tom Marquand takes the ride for William Haggas who, so far, is this year’s most successful trainer at York.
