Washington Nationals to beat Philadelphia Phillies

The Nationals are putting together a nice run of late, winning eight of 10 including their last three straight to go within two games of .500.

The Phillies, meanwhile, are heading in the opposite direction, dropping five of their last seven to slip to 34-36.

Washington won the first game of this divisional series 3-2 on Tuesday and looks to have the advantage on the mound with Erick Fedde.

The 28-year-old right-hander is having a solid season, going 4-4 over 10 starts with an impressive 3.33 ERA.

Fedde has been particularly strong in recent outings, winning two of his last three starts, giving up no runs across all three.

Vince Velazquez gets the start for Philly. He is 2-2 over 14 starts with a 4.44 ERA and has conceded 15 runs over his last four.

Toronto Blue Jays to beat Miami Marlins 

After dropping five straight, the Blue Jays have now won three in a row to go back above .500 on the season.

They came through in the ninth to win the opening game of this series, and are now 3- 0 against the Marlins this season.

Miami has the impressive Trevor Rogers on the mound on Wednesday – the 23-year-old is 7-3 on the season with a 1.87 ERA.

Rogers will need support from the offense, though, and that has not come very often this season – Miami ranks in the bottom five in the bigs for OPS, runs and homers, and in the bottom eight for OBP.

Toronto, on the other hand, is one of the most explosive offensive teams in the league, ranking second for average, OPS and home runs, sixth for OBP and eighth in runs.

Starter Robbie Ray, who is 4-3 with a 3.50 ERA, should be given space to work by the offense as Toronto looks to wrap up another two-game sweep over Miami.

Tampa Bay Rays to beat Boston Red Sox

The Rays dropped the opener of this three-game series between the top two teams in the AL East, and have now lost seven straight to go below the Red Sox in the standings.

That slide has to come to an end at some point, and there were some promising signs on Tuesday, particularly with the addition of No. 1 prospect Wander Franco, who went 2-for-4 including a three-run homer on his debut.

Rich Hill gets the start for Tampa on Wednesday, with the 41-year-old veteran enjoying a solid 17th season in the bigs.

Hill is 5-2 on the season with a 3.64 ERA, and taken the win in four of his last seven starts.

On the mound for Boston will be Garrett Richards, who owns a 4-4 record and 4.36 ERA on the season, but is without a win since May 19.

This Tampa team is too good to keep losing, and Wednesday looks a good opportunity to end this slump.

Oakland Athletics to beat Texas Rangers

Oakland exploded for 13 runs to level this three-game set at one apiece on Tuesday, and should polish things off here.

James Kaprielian will look to continue his strong start to life in the majors as he gets his seventh start of the season. He is 4-1 to date with a 2.84 ERA, and has earned the win in his last two outings.

It’s been a tough year for Texas starter Mike Foltynewicz, who is 1-7 with a 5.59 ERA, with his only win coming nearly two months ago on April 27.

The Athletics are 7-3 over their last 10 and are 20-12 on the road this season, while ranking in the top half of the majors in every major offensive statistic.

It’s hard to see them dropping this one against the Rangers, who own one of the worst records in baseball at 26-47.
