Philadelphia Phillies to beat Washington Nationals

This four-game series in the NL East is poised at 1-1, but the Phillies should take this one behind the arm of Zack Wheeler.

The seven-year veteran is 8-5 on the season with a 2.37 ERA, and has taken the decision in his last two starts.

Wheeler is 5-2 at Citizens Bank Park, with his ERA dropping to 2.09 at home, where he has given up just 19 earned runs over 82 complete innings.

Starting for Washington will be lefty Patrick Corbin, who has struggled so far in 2021.

Corbin owns a 6-9 record with an elevated 5.71 ERA, and has taken the loss in his last two starts, giving up 11 runs on 15 hits over 10.2 innings.

Corbin’s record on the road is a painful 1-5, with his ERA creeping above six away from National Park.

Atlanta Braves to beat New York Mets

The Braves mashed 12 runs on Tuesday to go 2-1 up in this five-game set in the NL East, and this looks like good value on them to wrap up the series.

Starter Max Fried is having a mixed season, going 7-6 through 16 starts with a 4.46 ERA, but has pitched well against the Mets this year.

He took an unfortunate loss in his first appearance against them in May, but gave up just a single run over six complete innings.

He earned the decision in his most recent outing against New York on June 30, giving up two runs on three hits over five.

On the mound for the Mets will Tylor Megill, who is having an impressive rookie season. The 26-year-old earned his first major league win in his most recent start against Toronto, and owns an impressive 2.10 ERA through six starts.

Megill has struggled a bit against Atlanta, though, giving up five runs on eight hits over nine innings in two appearances against the Braves.

Atlanta’s offense is hot right now, and the Braves’ previous success against Megill is enough to back them in this value play.

Cincinnati Reds to beat Chicago Cubs

This four-game series in the NL Central is poised at 1-1 as the Reds recovered from a walk-off loss in the opener with a 7-4 win on Tuesday.

They look a good bet to go 2-1 up on Wednesday with Tyler Mahle set for the start. He is 7-3 on the season after 20 starts, and owns a 3.92 ERA to date.

He holds the edge over Chicago starter Zach Davies, who owns a 6-6 record and 4.30 ERA on the season.

Another key aspect of this game and series is the uncertainty surrounding the Cubs at the moment with the trade deadline looming.

Several of their stars are rumoured to be on the trading block, and that speculation is only going to increase as Friday approaches.

The Reds are also 7-4 on the season series against the Cubs, who are 2.5 games back on them in the division.

Los Angeles Dodgers to beat San Francisco Giants

The Giants went 1-0 up in this three-game set on Tuesday thanks to a throwing error from Cody Bellinger in the eighth which gifted them a 2-1 win.

The Dodgers have a great chance to level things up on Wednesday, though, with Cy Young candidate Walker Buehler on the mound.

Buehler is 10-1 on the season with a 2.31 ERA, and has not taken a loss since June 24 against the Cubs.

His last start was also against the Giants when he was unlucky to take a no-decision after giving up just one run over 7.1 innings and striking out nine.

On the mound for the Giants will be Anthony DeSclafani, who is also facing the same opponent for the second game in a row.

He took a no-decision against the Dodgers, but did give up three runs on six hits over six innings.

DeSclafani has struggled against LA this season, going 0-2 over four starts with a huge 8.84 ERA, so backing the road team looks a good bet here.
