Here are Jack Green's four NFL tips to consider for Thursday night's game between the Atlanta Falcons vs Carolina Panthers.

Carolina Panthers to win

The Falcons just keep finding ways to lose. They were in full control against the Lions last week, but Todd Gurley’s late touchdown – which he scored accidentally – gave Detroit the ball back with a minute remaining, and they drove down the field for the game-winning score in the final seconds.

It’s hard to trust them to beat the Panthers, who have a 3-4 record despite being without star running back Christian McCaffrey since week 2.

Carolina won three consecutive games between weeks 3 and 5 before losing their last two, but those defeats came against good teams in the Saints and Bears and they should bounce back here.

Over 51 points

The Panthers have averaged 23.1 points per game this season but should surpass that total against the Falcons’ defence, whose average of 29.6 points conceded is the seventh-highest mark in the league.

Atlanta have averaged 28.4 points per game when star receivers Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley have both been healthy, so they should contribute plenty towards this total with that pair both in the line-up.

Todd Gurley to score a touchdown

Gurley scored two touchdowns against the Lions last week and has now scored seven in seven games this season.

The Panthers have allowed nine touchdowns to running backs this season – the second-most in the NFL – so it looks very likely that Gurley finds the end zone again.

Robby Anderson over 77.5 receiving yards

Atlanta have allowed the most passing yards of any team this season, so this should another big game for Anderson, who has become Carolina’s top receiver.

He has narrowly missed this mark in the past two games, but has averaged 91.4 yards per game this season nonetheless and passed the 100-yard mark on three occasions.
