Here are Jack Green's four NFL tips to consider for Thursday night's game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens.
Baltimore Ravens to win
In a meeting of the two most recent NFL MVPs and possibly the league’s two best teams, expect Lamar Jackson and the Ravens to come out on top.
Baltimore have been hugely impressive over the first two weeks of the season, thrashing the Cleveland Browns 38-6 before beating the Houston Texans 33-16 last Sunday.
The Chiefs are also 2-0 but needed overtime to beat the Los Angeles Chargers last week, and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn’t quite hit top form yet this season.
Over 54 total points
This game has the look of the Chiefs’ iconic meeting with the Los Angeles Rams in 2018, which was hyped up all week and turned out to be a classic that finished 54-51.
The Ravens have been unstoppable on offense this season and should reach 30 points for the third week in a row against a Kansas City defence that struggles against the run.
With the Chiefs’ array of weapons and Mahomes’ habit of raising his game against the best opponents, they should also put up big numbers on Monday night.
Mark Andrews to score a touchdown
Andrews was kept quiet by the Texans last week but now faces a Chiefs defence that has struggled against tight ends this season.
Andrews scored twice against the Browns in week 1 and has a total of nine touchdowns in his last nine games.
Mark Ingram over 51.5 rushing yards
The Chiefs have allowed the fifth-most rushing yards per game of any team this season and now face the league’s most dangerous ground attack.
Ingram has been held in check for much of this season and has split carries with Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins, but he remains the no. 1 back in the Ravens’ offense and should build upon a 55-yard performance last week, in which he also scored a touchdown.
