Denver Broncos (-6) vs Jacksonville Jaguars 10/11
The Broncos started the season with a comfortable 27-13 win over the New York Giants last week and now face a Jacksonville team coming off a humiliating defeat.
The Jaguars lost 37-21 to the Houston Texans, who were widely expected to be the worst team in the league this season. The Jags were down 34-7 at one point in the third quarter, and coach Urban Meyer looks like he may not last all 17 games in his long-awaited first season in the NFL.
With a well-balanced offence and a defence that looked great last week, Denver has a clear advantage on both sides of the ball and looks a good bet to win by at least a touchdown.
Buffalo Bills (-3) vs Miami Dolphins 5/6
The Bills slumped to a surprising defeat against the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday, but should bounce back against the Dolphins.
Buffalo won both games between these AFC East rivals last season, including a crushing 56-26 Week 17 win in which the Bills pulled their key starters at the half.
The Dolphins scraped a 17-16 win over the New England Patriots last week but face a much tougher challenge here, and it’s hard to see them being able to contain Josh Allen and the Bills’ dynamic offence.
Arizona Cardinals (-3.5) vs Minnesota Vikings 10/11
The Cardinals earned arguably the most impressive win of any team in Week 1, dominating playoff hopefuls Tennessee in a 38-13 victory.
With Chandler Jones sacking Ryan Tannehill five times, Kyler Murray recording five total touchdowns and DeAndre Hopkins also scoring twice, the Cardinals have superstars on both sides of the ball and look a more balanced team than Minnesota.
The Vikings lost a winnable game against the Cincinnati Bengals 27-24 in overtime last Sunday, and although this roster looks better than the one that went 7-9 last year, it’s hard to trust them to keep this close against a Cardinals team that started the season so well.
Dallas Cowboys (+3.5) vs Los Angeles Chargers 20/23
The Cowboys battled hard and almost beat the defending Super Bowl champions in the season opener, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers needed a last-second field goal to knock off Dallas 31-29.
Dak Prescott put up three TDs and 403 passing yards in his return from injury, and it’s clear that with him back under centre this Dallas offence again has a chance to be the best in the NFL.
The Cowboys are a good bet to stay within a field goal against the Chargers, who won on the road in Washington last week but have gone just 6-10 at home since the start of 2019.
