Los Angeles Rams -2.5

Despite the Seahawks’ considerable success over the past several years, they have struggled against the Rams, posting a 4-8 record over the past six seasons. With Los Angeles coming off a loss, look for them to come out aggressive and take it to Seattle. This is the best team the Seahawks have faced thus far this season.

Los Angeles’ defensive scheme in particular could pose a problem for Seattle. The Rams seek to keep the ball in front of them always, preventing big chunk plays, while the Seahawks rely on deep shots to receivers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett a bit too much. If those looks aren’t there on Thursday, the offense may stutter too often to cover the spread.

Sony Michel anytime TD

Darrell Henderson, the lead running back for the Rams, is currently battling through a rib injury. While he isn’t at much risk of making the injury worse, it can be very painful.

He is also barely over 200 pounds, so it wouldn’t make much sense to hand the ball off to Henderson on the goal line, especially when Sony Michel is better built to be a short yardage guy. If the Rams are to get in close, we could see Michel fall into the end zone, and these odds are too nice to pass up.

Van Jefferson over 3.5 receptions

Jefferson was highly touted for his route running ability coming out of college, and it has been on full display early this season. The second-year receiver has 10 receptions over his past two games, totaling six targets in each.

He has also played at least 68 per cent of the offensive snaps in every game this season. In what is expected to be a high-scoring, competitive game, Jefferson should continue to see targets and capitalize on them.

Tyler Lockett under 5.5 receptions

As stated above, the Rams’ defensive philosophy is to make the offense play another snap – they don’t want to be beat deep. This takes away a big part of Tyler Lockett’s game.

He has totaled under 5.5 receptions in three of the four weeks this season. The last time Lockett caught at least six passes against the Rams was 2016, so it’s not likely to happen on Thursday.
