CINCINNATI BENGALS (-5.5) vs Cleveland Browns 10/11

The Bengals earned a huge win over the Kansas City Chiefs last week and have now won four straight games, covering the spread on all four occasions.

Cincinnati is once again looking like a major contender in the UFC. Star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase looks to have fully recovered from a hip injury that saw him miss several weeks, and the offensive line has been doing a much better job of protecting quarterback Joe Burrow.

Cleveland, meanwhile, is coming off a 27-14 win over the Houston Texans, in which they didn’t score an offensive touchdown. The Browns’ defence played well against one of the worst teams in the NFL, but the offense sputtered in its first game led by Deshaun Watson, who has returned from suspension.

Watson needs to play much better for the Browns to have any chance against the Bengals, and it’s hard to see him improving quickly after so long on the sidelines. The Bengals should ease to a win here and comfortably cover again.

NEW YORK JETS (+10.5) at Buffalo Bills 10/11

The Jets remain in playoff contention despite losing 27-22 in Minnesota last week, with their 7-5 record good enough for a Wild Card spot as things stand in the AFC.

Their defence has been great all season, ranking sixth in points allowed per game, and they’ve also looked better offensively since Mike White took over at quarterback a fortnight ago, averaging 26.5 points per game over the past two weeks compared to 14 per game over the previous four.

They face a tough test this weekend against the Bills, who have won three straight games to take control of the AFC East. Buffalo has failed to cover in four of its last six, though, and 10 points is a wide margin of victory in what should be a low-scoring game.

The Jets beat the Bills 20-17 when these teams met in Week 9 as New York’s defence held Josh Allen to just 205 passing yards and no touchdowns with two interceptions. They may not repeat that performance on the road on Sunday, but should be able to keep this game close.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (-7.5) at New York Giants 19/20

Philadelphia kept rolling last week with a win over the Titans to improve to 11-1 for the season. They were favoured by 4.5 points but turned in perhaps their best performance of the season to date, cruising to a 35-10 victory.

The Eagles have now won three straight since losing to Washington in Week 10, and they’re 5-0 on the road this season.

The Giants tied 20-20 with Washington last week and lost their previous two games against the Lions and Cowboys. They’ve only won once since Week 8 and average 20.4 points per game.

That’s not going to cut it against the best team in the NFL, and with star running back Saquon Barkley also out with a neck injury it’s hard to see the Giants keeping up with the Eagles here.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (-3.5) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1/1

The Buccaneers are on a short week, having beaten the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. Tampa Bay looked destined for defeat with just a few minutes remaining in that game, but the Saints somehow managed to allow two late touchdowns to hand the game to their divisional rivals.

Despite Tom Brady’s late heroics, the Buccaneers were outplayed for almost the entire game, which doesn’t bode well for their chances in San Francisco.

The 49ers lost quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to injury last week, but the offense still thrived with seventh-round pick Brock Purdy under centre and they went on to beat the Miami Dolphins 33-17.

Their defence is the best in the NFL, allowing just 15.8 points per game, and their array of offensive weapons should make it easy for Purdy to lead his team to another win.
