Atlanta Falcons to beat Carolina Panthers

The Falcons earned their first win in six weeks by beating the Arizona Cardinals 40-14 last Sunday, and they should make it back-to-back victories this weekend in Carolina.

The Panthers were beaten 12-9 by the New Orleans Saints at home last week, and they’ve now lost six successive games, averaging just 18.8 points per game during that run.

Carolina quarterback Cam Newton just doesn’t look right amid rumours of a shoulder injury, and it’s hard to see him and the Panthers managing to outscore a great Falcons offense.

Houston Texans to beat Philadelphia Eagles

The Texans’ 29-22 away win over the New York Jets took their record to 10-4, and they’ve now won 10 of their last 11 games, including five in a row on the road.

Houston have averaged 28.3 points per game over the past four weeks, and should cause major problems against a Philadelphia defence that has struggled with injuries in the second half of the season.

The Super Bowl champions shocked the Los Angeles Rams last week, but they’ve only earned back-to-back wins once all season and have lost three of their last six games at home.

Chicago Bears to beat San Francisco 49ers

The Bears are in with a chance of earning a first-round bye in the playoffs if they win their remaining two games, and they shouldn’t have much problem seeing off the 49ers.

San Francisco have won their last two games, but their record for the season is 4-10 and it’s hard to see them beating one of the NFL’s elite teams.

Chicago have won seven of their last eight games, with a 30-27 defeat to the New York Giants – which quarterback Mitchell Trubisky missed through injury – the only exception.

New Orleans Saints to beat Pittsburgh Steelers

The Saints can lock up the NFC’s top seed if they beat Pittsburgh on Sunday night, and a 13-2 home record over the past two seasons suggests they will.

New Orleans were arguably the NFL’s best offensive team for the first 10 weeks of the season, but it’s their defence that’s stepped up recently, with their 12.3 points conceded per game since Week 10 the lowest mark in the NFL.

Pittsburgh earned a huge win over the New England Patriots last weekend, but they had lost three in a row before that, two of which were on the road.
