Detroit Lions to beat Dallas Cowboys

The Lions picked up their first win of the season last week, causing a huge upset by beating the New England Patriots 26-10.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford’s solid start to the season continued, and the defence found form after a poor two opening games, holding the Pats’ Tom Brady to just 133 passing yards on 14 completions with one touchdown and one interception.

They should again impress in Dallas against the Cowboys, who have struggled to move the ball downfield quickly, ranking third-last in net yards gained per pass attempt.

Indianapolis Colts to beat Houston Texans

The Colts were slightly unlucky to lose to the Philadelphia Eagles last week, and they had a chance to beat the Super Bowl champions with a last-second Hail Mary.

Indianapolis beat the Washington Redskins 21-9 in the previous week, and their defence – which has been surprisingly impressive this season – should enjoy facing the winless Texans on Sunday.

Houston lost seven of their eight away games last season and have started this campaign in similar fashion, losing 27-20 to the New England Patriots and 20-17 to the Tennessee Titans.

Jacksonville Jaguars to beat New York Jets

Jacksonville are coming off an awful 9-6 defeat against the Titans in which neither side managed to score a touchdown.

The Jaguars did put up 31 points at home to the Patriots in Week 2, though, so they should rebound on Sunday when they host a Jets team that gave the Cleveland Browns their first win in 635 days last week.

Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold has struggled in the last two weeks, throwing four interceptions and just one touchdown. He now faces one of the best defences in the league, who have conceded the joint-second fewest points in the league.

New Orleans Saints to beat New York Giants

The Saints beat arch-rivals Atlanta 43-37 on the road last Sunday, their second successive overtime victory.

They should have a much easier time against the Giants, who lost their first two games of the season before eking out a 27-22 win over the Houston Texans last week.

New York have only scored 55 points across their three games to date – the sixth-fewest in the NFL – so it’s hard to see them keeping pace with New Orleans, who are second in scoring with 104 points.
