Here are Jack Green's NFL predictions for Sunday's games, which make up a 9/1 four-fold.
Las Vegas Raiders to beat Atlanta Falcons 5/8
The Raiders’ three-game winning streak came to an end against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, but Las Vegas came very close to beating the defending Super Bowl champions, losing on a last-minute touchdown.
Jon Gruden’s side have been very impressive all year, with a 6-4 record and an offense that has scored the eighth-most points per game.
They should comfortably beat Atlanta, who have one of the worst defences in the league and were dominated on both sides of the ball in a 24-9 defeat to the New Orleans Saints last weekend.
Buffalo Bills to beat Los Angeles Chargers 20/49
The Bills are in control of the AFC East with a 7-3 record, and they had a bye last weekend to prepare for this meeting with the Chargers.
Los Angeles beat the winless New York Jets last Sunday, but that was their first win since week 7 and they have conceded at least 28 points in each of their last seven games.
The Bills’ offense has been great this season and should do some damage on Sunday, and the Chargers’ habit of finding new ways to lose close games every week means this should be a safe bet.
Carolina Panthers to beat Minnesota Vikings 33/20
The Panthers earned an impressive 20-0 win over the Detroit Lions last week despite starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater missing the game through injury.
Bridgewater should return for this meeting with the Vikings, who lost to the lowly Dallas Cowboys 31-28 last Sunday and now have a 4-6 record.
Carolina have fallen victim to a tough schedule over the past few weeks, while the Vikings have benefitted from an easier run of games. These teams are very evenly matched, and the Panthers’ defensive edge means it’s worth backing them at a good price.
Arizona Cardinals to beat New England Patriots 5/7
The Cardinals disappointed in a 28-21 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks last Thursday, but should bounce back against the Patriots, who are 4-6 and all but out of the playoff race.
New England lost 27-20 to the Houston Texans last week and have averaged just 18.7 points per game since their week 5 bye, with quarterback Cam Newton struggling.
Arizona are a much better all-round team – ranking seventh in points per game this season and 13th defensively – and they should prove it with a comfortable win on Sunday.
